Before you start: All Intellispire Extensions require PHP5.x, and actually have code to detect which version of PHP is running on the server. If the code detects older versions of PHP, it will throw an error and die. If these instructions don't work, please verify which version of PHP you are running before contacting support.

Installation

1. Purchase the plug-in
2. You will receive a welcome email from Intellispire upon your purchase.
3. Select the link provided in the email you receive to download and save the file to your hard drive.
4. Login to the backend of your joomla site. ( eg. YourDomain.com/administrator )
5. Go to Extensions > Install/Uninstall.
6. Choose Package File and browse for the file that you just saved to your hard drive, then select Upload.
   

   Setup 
   Now that you have installed the plugin, you will need to follow these instructions to configure it:

7. Go to Extensions > Plugin Manager and scroll to the MailChimp Notification. (Probably the last item on your list.)
8. Click on MailChimp Notification.
9. On the left side confirm that you want to Enable to plugin. In 2.5 this will be a dropdown box and you will need to select Enabled. For 3.0 click the button that says Enabled
10. On the right side of that page,(In 3.0 click on the tab "Basic Options" then add your parameters) you will need to provide the data for Plugin Parameters - which you will acquire from inside MailChimp.
• List Unique ID
• API Key

1. So, leave this page open.
2. Open a new new window or new tab on your browser, then go to www.mailchimp.com
3. Login to your account and follow these instructions:
   
   

   Step by step instructions to add subscribers to your MailChimp list.

   1. From the top menu, select Lists
   2. Click the red 'Create List' button on the left side of the page
   3. Click the blue 'Create List' button in the middle of the page
   4. Go ahead and fill out the list's information any way you want
   5. Once finished, scroll down and click the blue 'Save' button.
   6. You will now be on your lists home page where you can view all of your lists.
   7. On the list you just created, hover over the 'settings' link located under the list's name.
   8. Click the 'list settings and unique id' link
   9. Scroll down and you should see unique id for list (list name) with a gray textfield below it.
   10. Inside of the gray textfield is your list's Unique ID. Copy this and paste it into the MailChimp plugin's List Unique ID textfield.
   11. Now we need your API key - From the very top menu, hover over 'Account' and click the 'API Keys and Authorized Apps' link under Extras.
   12. You should now get a list of your API keys. (if you don't have any click the blue 'Add API Key' button)
   13. Copy the text under the header 'API Key' and paste it into the MailChimp plugin's API Key textfield.

   Complete the Setup

4. Click on Apply, and double check if the system (MailChimp Notification) is enabled. If yes, click Save. 
   
   

   TESTING. 
   Test your set-up to insure your registration system works as you expect it to.

5. Go to your website frontpage, see if you have the Login module provided as default from your Joomla package, if not enable it form the backend.
6. Create an account, and enter details required.
7. Check your email for the welcome letter you previously set up in MailChimp. An activation link may be provided depending on your plugin settings. Once you receive the welcome email, your MailChimp plugin is setup and ready to receive your signups and start building your list. Note: Sometimes, arrival of this message is almost instant. Sometimes it can take up to an hour. Be patient.
